Touring

Traveling by bicycle is one of the great joys in my life. In 2011 I rode my Diamondback Outlook from Philadelphia to the Pacific Coast in Oregon. It took three months and one day. I was 27 at the time, and I'd done a few shorter tours in my twenties - some overnights, and a couple month-long trips up the east coast.

I have been a bicycle advocate since childhood, but starting in my twenties, I became a sponge for bicycle knowledge. I was curious about all aspects of cycling, and had a special interest in bicycles as a tool of empowerment. How fantastic, I thought, that something so simple and inexpensive can be a person's invitation to adventure and a vastly improved quality of life. There is no better way to explore your surroundings.
